The Lord Jesus Christ: A Man-God?

Some Christian religions and sects uphold the belief that the Lord Jesus Christ is a man-God (or a God-man), a true God and true man at the same time. One of those Christian religions and sects which uphold this belief is the dominant and powerful Roman Catholic Church.

464 The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human. He became truly man while remaining truly God. Jesus Christ is true God and true man.

Is this belief Biblically acceptable? Does the Bible uphold this belief too? We'll find out. First, let us answer this question Biblically:

Q: Is God a man? Is God the Son of Man?

Biblically speaking, the answer to both question is 'no.' Why? Kindly read the verse below.

[19] God is not a man, that he should lie, nor as the son of man, that he should be changed. Hath he said then, and will he not do? hath he spoken, and will he not fulfill?

Now, let's answer this question Biblically:

Q: Is the Lord Jesus a man? Is he the Son of Man?

The answer to both question is 'yes.' The Lord Jesus Christ is a man and this is supported by many verses from the Sacred Scriptures. Here's one:

1 Timothy 2:5 The Geneva Bible (1587)

[5] For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,

Here's another one:

Romans 5:15 The Quaker Bible

[15] But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of Man.

John 9:35-37 Christian Community Bible (48th Edition)

[35] Jesus heard that they had expelled him. He found him and said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"
[36] He answered, "Who is he, that I may believe in him?
[37] Jesus said, "You have seen him and he is speaking to you.

Biblically, we have proven that the Lord Jesus Christ is a man and a Son of Man. Now, can he (the Lord Jesus) be God? No, he can't be God since God is not a man nor a Son of Man. Can he be a man-God? No, he can't be a man-God or God-man since he's not God.

Another question that we need to answer:

Q: Biblically speaking, is there such thing as a 'man-God' or a 'God-man?'
